Sailing
At present, sailing is only offered on an individual basis. The Sport Service should be able to open its sailing base in Dongo (Lake Como) from the spring semester of 2024.
It will be possible to practice the activity on an individual basis or follow courses that will be offered on dinghies (Laser and Laser vago).
Thanks to partnerships established between the Sport Service and external clubs, students and employees have the opportunity to take advantage of preferential rates for the rental of sailing boats, as well as access to the course to obtain the international sailing licence without limits from the coast, at a special price.
Rental
Thanks to an agreement with the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano (Foce area, Cassarate river), USI/SUPSI students and employees have the opportunity to rent various types of boats (Optimist, Laser, Omega, Yngling and Topaz 14) at a 50% discount on the list price.

Course for an international sailing licence with no shoreline limits
Obtain an international boat licence valid for driving sailing and motor boats up to 24 metres in length and with no limits from the coast.
The programme comprises more than 50 hours of theoretical lessons and is accompanied by comprehensive teaching materials included in the price.
Theory lessons take place online on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20:00 to 22:00 while some charting lessons, which require the physical presence of the instructor and participants, are held at the USI/SUPSI East Campus.
The course is held in Italian only.
