Fitness Room Subscription
The East Campus Fitness Room is a space dedicated to individual training with specific machines, free weights and a functional area. The Sports Hall is located on the USI/SUPSI East Campus and is open with unlimited access 365 days a year, from 06:00 to 23:00.
The 'Fitness Room' subscription can only be purchased by the following categories:
- USI students
- USI students in exchange
- SUPSI students (basic education only)
- USI collaborators
- SUPSI collaborators

The Fitness Room at the East Campus Sports Hall is a 200m2 space dedicated to individual training.
The latest generation of equipment from Technogym, the world's leading fitness brand, is available to users:
- 12 cardio machines (3 treadmills, 3 bikes, 2 Synchro, 1 Spinning Bike, 1 RowErg and 1 Skierg)
- 14 isotonic machines (Technogym Selection Line)
- 1 calisthenic training castle
- 1 cable castle for multi-functional exercises
- Free zone for weight and functional training
Our qualified instructors are available in the Sports Hall. You can also purchase Fitness Coaching with which to find out your body composition and structure a customised training programme.

Rules of conduct in the Fitness Room
In order to guarantee an optimal service for all subscribers, the following rules of conduct must be observed in the Fitness Room.
Please take note of the following rules:
- The use of towels to be placed on equipment and mats is mandatory;
- Clean up and sanitise equipment at the end of use;
- Allow other users to use the equipment during your recovery time between sets;
- In the event of over-crowding in the free weights area, access to the Fitness room may be temporarily interrupted to allow subscribers a regular workout;
- If possible, avoid busy times (16:30/20:00) and do not exceed 1h 30' of training:
- Keep your subscription on hand (via the MyWellness App on your smartphone or confirmation by e-mail). The staff is authorized to check randomly.

Updating your university badge
With each new subscription and/or renewal, users are reminded to update their university badge to allow activation for new access.
To carry out the update wait 24 hours from the time of purchase and then place your university badge on one of the black readers located at the East Campus entrances for about 20 seconds.
SUPSI USERS
Please note that the subscription is considered valid at the time of purchase, and in the absence of a compliant badge, access to the East Campus Sports Hall will not be possible, with the consequent risk of losing a few days' use.
To check the eligibility of your badge, please create an account MyWellness/Technogym and follow the indicated procedure.
Users are requested not to proceed with the purchase until confirmation of badge activation has been received. -
Gadget USI/SUPSI sport
In the period from 01.09.2023 to 31.08.2024, every user purchasing his first subscription ticket of the current period, lasting at least 9 months, will receive a free gadget from the Sport Service.
To collect it, go to the Sport Service office, located at the Campus Est in Viganello, via La Santa 1 (sector D - Office D0.07).
The office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:30.Users in Mendrisio can pick up the gadget directly at the Quality Fitness gym during opening hours.

Recognition by health insurance companies
Our Sports Hall is a member of the "Swiss Federation of Fitness and Health Centres" (SFGV) and we are proud to announce the recognition by the quality certification body, Fitness Guide, as a "Part Time Care" centre.
Fitness-Guide certifies Fitness and Health Centres and the main elements of the certification are several, including the space available, the quality of the staff and the equipment available.

As a result of this recognition, several health insurance companies reward their subscribers for training by compensating them for part of the costs they incur for their fitness subscriptions. The compensation is calculated under the heading of preventive contributions, and the SFGV produces annual documentation listing the health insurance companies that make use of this system and their contributions. In the attachment available on this page, you can consult the summary table for the current year.
If you have any questions regarding your insurance policies and their reimbursements, please contact your insurance advisors.
Each subscriber is entitled to apply for the annual form in order to receive reimbursement from their health insurance fund, and the request must be sent by email to sport@usi.ch. -
MyWellness app
The 'MyWellness' app is available free of charge to all Sports Hall users. It offers support for using the machines and stores your workout in your personal profile. For users with a "Classes and Games" subscription, the app also allows them to book classes.

Equipment
It is mandatory to arrive with clean indoor shoes and the use of a towel to place on all machines and/or training mats.
There are two changing rooms with showers, hairdryers and toilets. In addition, lockers are available; you must bring your own personal padlock to lock them.
